BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The City of Boston and Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) are hosting free flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics throughout Boston.
BPHC is urging residents who are six months and older to get vaccinated ahead of peak flu season, which usually last from Oct. through March. BPHC especially urges residents ages 65 and older, at high risk for severe COVID-19, or have never received a COVID-19 vaccine to stop by the vaccination clinics.
Dr. Bisola Ojikutu, Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Boston, said in a statement that getting vaccinated is the most effective way to prevent serious illnesses. “During the fall and winter months, we strongly recommend all Boston residents receive updated vaccines and stay home if they have symptoms of respiratory viral illness,” she continued.
The vaccine shots are completely free, and appointments and proof of insurance are not necessary, though health insurance cards are encouraged.
The location and hours of operations for these free clinics are:
- Saturday, November 2, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the BCYF Mattahunt Community Center
- Monday, November 4, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the BCYF Paris Street Community Center
- Thursday, November 7, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the BCYF Curley Community Center
More upcoming dates and locations will be added, and residents can check here.
