CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — While Boston gets most of the tourism attention around these parts, Cambridge says it's no slouch.
The world-renowned hub for education and innovation is also rich in history and culture.
The city's Office of Tourism said about 1.6 million visitors come to Cambridge, generating more than $200 million-dollars each year.
Coinciding with National Tourism Week, Cambridge was showing how thankful it is to its visitors on Wednesday.
Office of Tourism Executive Director Candice Beaulieu said the offerings are just a way of giving back. "We have some digital scavenger hunts," she said. "We have a new digital guest book so that people from either Cambridge or all over the world can sign it and see their photos and comments on our website. And we also have a new postcard station."
Visitors can fill out Cambridge-themed postcards that will be mailed anywhere free of charge through August.
That's an idea that sounded great to Mariano from Argentina. "I'm sending a postcard to my father," he said. "He's the director of a school in Argentina."
At the Cambridge Kiosk in Harvard Square, along with visitor guides and entering a raffle, information like getting directions to and around neighborhoods was provided.
Tote bags and stickers were given out.
Visitors were also treated to a free cup of Peet's coffee.
