NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Multiple local agencies and the Coast Guard were searching the water in Newburyport for a missing man Sunday morning.

Kevin Mahoney's girlfriend first called police at around 7:30 PM Saturday, after her boyfriend had been missing for most of the day.

The 33-year-old Newbury man was last seen early Saturday morning around 1:30 AM, walking around around the North End Boat Club in Newburyport. He was walking in the driveway of the club wearing a salmon colored golf shirt and khaki shorts, according to the Newburyport Police.

The club has provided security camera footage to the police.

Mahoney's cell phone and backpack were found on his family's boat at the club. Emergency crews searched around the boat club on Saturday evening and Petty Officer Emma Fliszar said the Coast Guard searched the water with a helicopter and two rescue boats early Sunday. Crews were expected to keep searching throughout the day.

Several other agencies, like the State Police and the Newburyport Harbormaster, were on scene.
