Coast Guard Recovers Body Of Missing Woman In Scituate Waters

SCITUATE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The body of a missing woman has been found off the coast of Scituate after she fell off a boat that capsized on Saturday afternoon.

Reports said 911 calls started coming in at around 4:30 p.m. of a boat that capsized in the mouth of the North River.

Three people were aboard the boat, and two of the boaters were brought safely back to shore. The third person, a 78-year-old woman, remained missing for over five hours.

Officials said her body was later found unresponsive around 9:45 p.m. -- after divers had suspended their efforts for the evening. Scituate Police later identified the victim as Barbara Warner of Boulder, Colorado.

The U.S. Coast Guard Northeast confirmed Warner was not wearing a lifejacket, and she is the 6th boater to have lost their life in the Northeast in this month alone.
