BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The New England Patriots continued their struggles on Sunday, as fans start to lose interest in the team for the season.

After getting down early in the first half, the Patriots lost to the Las Vegas Raiders 21-17. Ezekiel Elliot’s touchdown in the third quarter snapped a 12-quarter streak without scoring a touchdown.

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has not thrown a passing touchdown in the last three and a half games. Many fans are calling for Malik Cunningham, who was signed to the active roster last week, to step in and provide a spark to the office.

WBZ’s Chris Fama spoke with Patriots fans about Sunday’s loss and the poor start to the season. Some fans said it feels like the team is back to playing how they did before 2001.

“It’s like I don’t even want to watch it anymore. It’s ridiculous,” said one fan almost ready to give up on the season.

“Sometimes I watch, sometimes I don’t. It depends on what mood I’m in,” said another fan who has lost interest.

“Collective failure,” said another fan when asked who was to blame for the team’s slow start.

“Hard to watch, I tend to lose a little bit of interest during the game,” said one resident not enjoying the lack of entertainment.

“You know what, I’m still a fan, I’m still going to watch it for better or for worse,” said one fan making Sundays tough for his spouse. “I do yell at the TV and my wife walks away.”

The Patriots have this week off, returning to action on Sunday, Oct. 22 against the Buffalo Bills.
