Connecticut Couple Separated On 67th Anniversary Because Of COVID-19

VERNON, Conn. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Connecticut couple is celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary differently this year.

Bob Shellard's wife, Nancy, is in a nursing home that isn't allowing visitors due to concerns surrounding coronavirus exposure. So, Bob waved a sign outside instead.

'I've loved you 67 years, and still do. Happy Anniversary,' the sign read.

"It makes me feel bad because I wanted her down with me, and I know she can't be," Bob told NBC News Connecticut.
