QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The city of Quincy is in the process of adding 1300 residential units to the growing area.
Quincy is home to over 100,000 people, and not all of them are excited about the construction, including Nicole.
"Really, really frustrating. You sit here and you kind of figure it's not going to bother you, and all of a sudden it's like boom, boom, boom."
The construction is dominating the city as demolition crews carve out space for the latest additions. Crews have already started tearing down a 100-year-old building to make room for a proposed 266-unit apartment complex. It is one of several projects the city has planned. With construction comes endless detours and constant traffic.

"And then they speed down here like it's like a road or race road or something," remarked one resident.
The city's planning board has approved several proposals that involve removing several existing structures to make room for new ones. With no clear sign of a completion date, residents are getting adjusted to the new soundtrack of their lives.
