Coronavirus: Boston University Considers Closing Campus Until 2021

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston University officials say the school may not reopen until early 2021 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

The school has been working on a strategy, called the "COVID-19 Recovery Plan" to define how and when the university will be able to resume its face-to-face classes, and how its dining services could operate without the risk of transmission.

Officials say the goal of the plan is to keep students and faculty safe from infection during the pandemic while imposing as little disruption to the semester as possible.

Working groups from the school have been working on the plan. One of their biggest challenges is addressing how international students are facing unique problems from the outbreak, including travel restrictions and visa processing issues.
