Coronavirus Hospitalizations Continue To Fall

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has reported another 266 cases of coronavirus, bringing the state's total case count to 106,151.

According to the state DPH, there were also another 69 deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Wednesday, upping the state's virus death toll to 7,734.

There has been a total of nearly 915,000 molecular coronavirus tests administered in Massachusetts so far.

The number of hospitals in the state using so-called "surge capacity" facilities and staff has dropped 90 percent in the past 30 days.

On Wednesday, the number of COVID-19 cases currently hospitalized in Massachusetts dropped below 1,000 for the first time since the DPH started releasing an enhanced visual dashboard of daily and cumulative data on April 20th.
