METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Mann Orchards in Methuen isn't what first comes to mind when you think of the toilet paper craze gripping our nation, but here we are.
The farm store and bakery is now giving away rolls of TP with take-out lunch purchases.
"We’ve got you covered," Mann Orchards posted on their Facebook page Monday. "This week you can get a free roll of toilet paper with every order from our Country Lunch Menu"
"We saw everyone having trouble getting toilet paper, buying toilet paper, all of that," owner Matt Fitzgerald told WBZ NewsRadio's Karyn Regal. "We were able to get our hands on a decent quantity, so we figured, with having everyone have to take their lunches to go, we do a little promo—you come in, you buy a lunch to-go, you get a free roll of toilet paper."
They're also selling toilet paper for $1 a roll.
"If people need it, we'll help," Fitzgerald said. "I know a lot of the big stores are out of stuff, a lot of supply houses are out of stuff. It's just, we're all in this together now. We gotta get through this."
It may not be glamorous, but it's enticing, said customers.
"They have toilet paper?" one bewildered customer said. "Where'd they get it? This is not a place that sells toilet paper!"
