South Shore Health Opens COVID-19 Test Facility On Former Air Base

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A one-time U.S. Naval air station in Weymouth is now a testing site for coronavirus.

There are sprawling apartments and condos at Union Point, mixed-use development that spreads across the 1,400-acre property.

Now, South Shore Health will operate a COVID-19 testing facility there. The Union Point facility will help ease the burden on testing already going on at South Shore Hospital, which South Shore Health also operates.

The Union Point facility is appointment only, though—coronavirus tests are ever-so-precious as each day moves forward.

You can only get an appointment there after talking to your primary care doctor, getting the necessary pre-screening and paperwork, and meeting all the state guidelines.
