BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A second person has been arrested in connection to the assault of a Boston corrections officer.
Boston Police said Sean Stuart, 51, was taken into custody Friday and charged with aggravated assault and battery.
The officer was attacked as he drove in his car on Atkinson Street, shortly before arriving at his job at the Suffolk County House of Corrections. He said he stopped to roll down his window when a man began yelling at him. The man then threw punches at the officer through the open car window.
When the officer exited the vehicle, he was then struck repeatedly with a metal pipe, and dragged to a dumpster where the blows continued.
Another man, 45-year-old Torre Jenkins, was arrested after police said he tried to drive the officer's car from the scene. Prosecutors said he failed because he was unable to drive stick.
