TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Five lucky couples could win free Cracker Barrel for a year just for proposing over pancakes.

The restaurant is promoting its new "I Said Yes At Cracker Barrel" contest, where couples can win free food for a year for popping the question at the restaurant. Any couple who proposes at Cracker Barrel from Feb. 10 to Feb. 16 and films it can be entered into the contest.

To enter the contest, interested couples need to upload the video onto a public Instagram account and explain why they chose to propose there in the caption. The post also needs the hashtags #ISaidYesAtCrackerBarrel and #Contest and tag @crackerbarrel.

WBZ's James Rojas spoke with customers at the Cracker Barrel in Tewksbury about the idea. One patron said she likes the idea of proposing at Cracker Barrel.

"I think it's amazing," she said. "I love celebrating love in that way and giving away food because it's beautiful food."

Even some patrons who are already married were thinking about getting in on the contest.

"I might propose to my wife again after 40 years [of marriage]," he said. "We'll see what happens."

But not everyone thinks Cracker Barrell is the best spot to pop the question.

"It's just not the most romantic place," she said. "Maybe on a cold day when they have the fire going."

Cracker Barrel has locations in Tewksbury, Sturbridge, Holyoke, and Wrentham.
