SHARON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A dairy farm in Sharon celebrated their 90th anniversary of being in the business of bringing milk and sweets to customers across New England.
Crescent Ridge Dairy Farms said that the farm began in 1932 when Malby Parrish started delivering products in his 1928 Chevrolet milk truck. CRDF said that to this day they still produce small batch milk that is pasteurized, homogenized, that's packaged in their signature glass bottles.
Mike Parish, grandson of Malby Parrish and Owner of CRDF, said that the tradition continues with fifteen drivers delivering fresh milk to their 5,500 customers a week.
"We're really a kind of throwback, in that we're still delivering milk in glass. I guess what is old is new again. As everything has either become rolled up into bigger companies it's nice to have a business that remains with the family and its local," Parrish said.

Crescent Ridge also runs and sells ice cream at the Crescent Ridge Dairy Bar, something that National Geographic has twice named to have one of the ten best ice creams in the world, the dairy farm said.
"We'll hire seventy high school and college-aged kids to staff the stand through the summer. We try to keep those lines moving and the customers happy," Parrish said.
