BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Curley K-8 School in Jamaica Plain celebrated a national recognition for its excellence in inclusiveness, advocacy, and respect this week.
Earlier this year, Special Olympics North America awarded Curley K-8 a National Banner for providing inclusive sports and activities to students with special needs and disabilities.

Mattahunt Elementary School in Mattapan and 17 other Massachusetts schools also received the recognition, according to an October press release from the City of Boston
Curley unveiled its banner to students and faculty during a ceremony on Wednesday.
"Everybody deserves to be included, no matter what dreams that you want to accomplish," two-time Special Olympics gold medalist Lumene Montissol told students during the ceremony.
"Our students are just so amazing and really are champions for one another," school principal Katie Grassa told WBZ NewsRadio.
