MILTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – A small private college just south of Boston is dealing with recent a string of anti-Semitic crimes on their campus.
Curry College is currently investigating multiple incidents where various campus locations were defaced with swastikas and discriminatory/racist language.
The college says one incident happened last Thursday in a residence hall laundry room. Between Friday and Monday, four more incidents happened across other locations on campus.
“Our support and care go out to everyone in our community, but particularly to our fellow Jewish and Black community members affected by this act,” Curry said in a statement. “While we believe these incidents are not reflective of the overall respectful, intelligent, inclusive, and diverse environment at Curry College, we are addressing it with the utmost seriousness and care for any individuals directly affected and the impact on our entire community.”
President Kenneth Quigley addressed the community on Monday during “listening sessions” in the College’s Diversity Center.
“These disgusting acts of anti-Semitism and racism will not be tolerated,” Quigley said according to WBZ-TV. “The person or persons responsible for this must be identified, removed from our campus, and brought to justice.”
The school also plans on gathering later this month. Curry’s Department of Public Safety are investigating the incidents along with Milton Police.
