BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Boston man has been charged with kidnapping and unarmed robbery after allegedly stealing $100 from a man he met on Grindr, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden.

"We are seeing these types of incidents more and more," Hayden said in a press release. "I urge everyone using dating sites to be cautious, especially when meeting someone for the first time in a non-public setting."

Anthony Brimage, 28, allegedly invited a man to his apartment then asked for money in exchange for sex.

When the man refused, Brimage allegedly cornered him and pinned him against a wall.

After arguing, the man sent Brimage's roommate $100 in two separate Apple Pay transactions, according to the press release.

"The suspect here used technology to meet the victim and then used technology to rob the victim," Hayden said.

Brimage told police the man sent the money on his own volition. Brimage also said the man wanted to have sex with him, but he refused.

The suspect already had an outstanding warrant for shoplifting, according to the press release.
