DANVERS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A gift shop on the North Shore is supporting artists with disabilities or autism by stocking the shelves with their work, spanning from jewelry, candles, or even diamond art created by Tori Halpern.

The artist tells WBZ's Brooke McCarthy that she has the people at Parcels in Danvers behind her whenever she makes a craft.

"All my family's proud of me, most of my family has been getting my diamond art. It would be a great thing for other people with disabilities to become artists themselves," Halpern said.

Parcels supports over a hundred artists like Halpern, both locally and internationally with a paycheck to show off their skills. Tim Brown of Northeast Arc, which owns the store, says it's a great opportunity and that he likes to see artists reach their true potential.

"Our bigger mission is helping to support people with disabilities or autism around the world. The sense of pride they get being able to drop off products and receive a paycheck has been a tremendous value to them," Brown said.
