BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has opened swimming pools for the season starting Saturday.
Boston has been under a summer heat advisory since Friday and temperatures are expected to soar to the 90s through the weekend. DCR officially opened 24 swimming pools as well as staffed more than 30 beaches with lifeguards.
More than 580 lifeguards were hired, and they will be on duty at local beaches seven days a week. The agency is still filling positions for certified lifeguards. For information, visit here.
