BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Commuters at the MBTA’s JFK/UMass Red Line station say they’ve been seeing dying or dead pigeons hanging from the ceiling.
It’s believed that birds nesting in the ceiling of the outdoor platform are falling and slipping in between the metal rods of the ceiling, getting stuck and eventually dying.
WBZ NewsRadio noticed multiple dead birds hanging at the station on Monday morning.
It’s a sore sight for many riders.
“It’s sad, I don’t even want to look anymore,” said one rider.
“I think it’s disgusting. I think it should be cleaned and they should probably have a way to get that out,” said another rider.

In a statement to WBZ NewsRadio, the T said crews would clear out the area above the ceiling on Monday and seal the open spaces in the ceiling.
