BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Another flight mishap has impacted travelers, this time in Boston.
Delta Air Lines flight 1398 was headed to New Orleans Sunday morning when a smoky odor was detected in the cabin shortly after takeoff, according to a Delta spokesperson.
The flight, which carried 87 passengers, three flight attendants, and two pilots, returned to Logan Airport safely, where it was met by emergency personnel.
Three people were treated at the gate, while one was taken to the hospital.
The remaining passengers continued their travel plans to New Orleans later that day.
Since the beginning of the year, a handful of flight emergencies have happened across the nation, including a passenger plane and an Army Black Hawk helicopter crash in Washington D.C., a small plane crashed in Vermont, and a flight overturned while landing in Toronto.
