BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An 18-year-old from Dorchester is being charged with murder after a teenager was found fatally shot inside a vehicle in Quincy Friday night.
According to Boston Police Department, officers responded to a call for shots fired on Ferndale Street in Dorchester at around 6:45 p.m. Friday, but they were unable to establish a crime scene in the immediate area of the call.
"While on scene, officers were advised that a possible suspect vehicle had fled prior to their arrival," BPD said. "After a period of time, a vehicle matching the given description was located in the City of Quincy."
Officers found a male victim inside the vehicle, later identified as 17-year-old Akeem Polimis of Dorchester, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.
At around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, BPD Homicide Detectives arrested 18-year-old Juan Nazario of Dorchester in connection with the incident.
Nazario is expected to appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
BPD said an investigation is ongoing.
