Dorchester Homicide Leads To Arrest Of 18-Year-Old Suspect

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Mattapan teenager is charged with fatally shooting another teen less than a half-mile from the spot the victim’s father was killed 10 years ago.

18-year old Daventy Walker is scheduled to be arraigned today in Dorchester Municipal Court for shooting 19-year old Treshawn Boyd Saturday night in the area of 51 Washington Street in Dorchester.

Two people were shot. The other victim’s injury is said to be not life-threatening.

Boyd was killed just five days before his 20th birthday. He was shot close to the location where his father was stabbed to death on Blue Hill Avenue 10 years ago.

The killing marks the city’s first homicide of the year.
