BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A car rear-ended a Mass. State Police Cruiser on Monday night.
The incident occurred on Storrow Drive near Kenmore Square, and both the 2013 Acura SUV and the cruiser were significantly damaged in the collision.
The operator of the SUV was arrested and is facing charges including operating under the influence of alcohol. He was identified by authorities as Melvin Lopez, 32, of Chelsea.

The trooper was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lopez is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday morning in Boston Municipal Court.
