Fight Breaks Out At Dropkick Murphys Show

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A scuffle broke out between Dropkick Murphys singer and bassist Ken Casey and an audience member at one of the band's St. Patrick's Day shows at the House of Blues this weekend.

The band says the man was attacking fans during the Friday Night show at the Landsdowne Street venue.

In a video posted by TMZ, Casey can be seen bleeding on stage during the incident, apparently after being hit by a beer can thrown from the crowd.

"Basically, guy was attacking fans and I was trying to defend them," Casey told The Boston Globe. "Security can’t always see what is going on three to four feet back, but we can ... that’s about the size of this."

Boston Police were called to Landsdowne Street late that night, but there were no suspects and no arrests.

In the TMZ video, lead singer Al Barr took the mic and addressed the crowd after the fight.

"When we invite you guys to come to one of our shows, it's like we're saying, 'Come to our house.' When someone disrespects us, it's like you're disrespecting us in our house," Barr said. "This is our house!"

Casey told The Globe he's fine, and that it was "not the first or last time I will be hit with a projectile."
