BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Local icons The Dropkick Murphys will pay tribute to deceased Worcester firefighter Lt. Jason Menard this Friday.
Menard died last Wednesday while fighting a house fire.
The event sold out within an hour, with tickets being sold at $30 each. It will be held at Worcester Beer Garden & Pavilion on 64 Franklin St.
Lt. Menard was attempting to rescue residents reportedly trapped in the Stockholm Street home when flames overtook the third floor, trapping the firefighter.
Menard was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Although the event is sold out, donations are still being accepted to help the Menard family.
