BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The line at the Boston Apple Store stretched down Boylston Street and wrapped around the corner to Fairfield Street Friday morning.
Eager customers waited for doors to open so they could purchase the new iPhone 15 on its first day of sales in stores.
"We got here at around 7:20," said Joe from Boston. "Doors opened at 8:00 [and] the line has been moving very slowly."
Joe was one of several people who decided to purchase the phone in-person rather than order online and wait for it to arrive.
"I tried to pre-order last week online [and] it wouldn’t get to me until November," Joe said. "I was like, well, do I really want to wait that long?"
For someone like Daniel, buying the iPhone 15 was a spur of the moment decision.
"I kind of woke up [and] said you know, they’re selling the iPhones from today, let me see if I can get one. So it was kind of spontaneous," Daniel told WBZ NewsRadio. "I did hear somewhere in Dubai, it was insane, and London it’s been crazy, so I think Boston has been doing really well."
Getting your hands on the iPhone 15 will not come cheap. Prices start at $799 for the 128GB model. The highest price is for the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max, which can cost as much as $1599 for the 1TB model.
