BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —  Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin is encouraging Massachusetts voters to take advantage of early voting this weekend.

Early voting for the September 3, 2024, Mass. State Primary Election commences Saturday, August 24 and runs through Friday, August 30.

According to an email from Galvin’s office, all cities and towns are required to offer early voting this weekend. Most communities are planning to be open for voting on Saturday, with larger communities also open for early voting on Sunday.

Saturday is also the last day for voters to register to vote or change their party for the primary elections.

Voters can find their communities early voting schedule and locations by visiting the Secretary of State’s website.

“With the primaries being held on the day after Labor Day, some voters may prefer to vote by mail or to vote early, especially if they have children going back to school that day,” Galvin said. “The early voting period gives you the chance to vote on whichever day you prefer, at your convenience.”

State primary election day in Massachusetts is Tuesday, September 3.
