BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The eighth annual Robot Block Party marched down Seaport Boulevard in Boston Saturday.
RoboBoston, one of the largest robotics celebrations, showcased dozens of the latest robotic innovations from more than 50 companies, universities, and student-lead robotics teams.
“To this day, we continue to be the place that people from all around the world come to try to solve the world’s biggest challenges,” Mayor Michelle Wu said in attendance. “We intend to keep investing in innovation so that Boston will always be the place where the biggest ideas turn into reality.”
For parents like Ryan, he said the festival has been a great way to introduce and inspire new career fields to his son, Weston.
“This is our second time, and we have a blast,” he told WBZ NewsRadio. “I think it’s pretty important that people know that we have to keep advancing and not being implicant to how it is now.”
Local high school robotics teams also got the opportunity to exhibit their innovations to experts.
“I think robotics are going to be super important in our future,” a Weston High School freshman said.
