Elderly Man In Critical Condition Following Dorchester Pedestrian Crash

DORCHESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An elderly Dorchester man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning, police said.

Massachusetts State Police responded at 9:39 a.m. to a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Morton and Selden streets in Dorchester. Police said a 62-year-old Dorchester man operating a 2007 BMW SUV was driving inbound on Morton when he struck a 91-year-old Dorchester man who was attempting to cross Morton.

The driver pulled over and stopped and was interviewed by State Police investigators.

Emergency crews transported the victim to Beth Israel Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

All lanes were reopened at the crash scene just before noon.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
