BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It's Election Day in Massachusetts and across the nation. Here's what you need to know:
Timing and Logistics:
Polls are open statewide at 7:00 AM, though some open as early as 5:45 AM. Polls close across the state at 8:00 PM, but people who are in line at 8:00 are still allowed to vote by state law.
Voters can check where their polling station is on the Secretary of State's website, here. Voters must be registered, and you can check if you're registered to vote here.
Unlike the primaries, general election ballots have candidates from all parties on the ballot. Some people may need to show ID before casting a ballot, including voters who are casting a ballot for the first time and those who are casting a provisional ballot.
Those who aren't on the voter list can cast a provisional ballot.
