LAKEVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lakeville Animal Control finally found the emu that escaped on Sept. 4.
On Sept. 9, the emu was safely captured after almost a week running around the town. The person who owned the emu moved out of the state, making it very difficult to catch the massive bird.
Animal Control Officer David Frates thanked Lakeville PD for keeping Lakeville Animal Control up to date on emu sightings around the town. Frates also thanked Joe Kenny, who had experience catching emus, for helping them catch the bird.
Frates said the bird will be relocated to “an awesome new home.”
