EVERETT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A big change is coming to Encore Casino’s free shuttle service.
Encore Casino announced that they are getting rid of the free shuttle service from Wellington Station and the Chelsea Silver Line Station due to low ridership. The casino said it would continue to offer service from both stops through the end of July.
“Due to low ridership, we will not have separate guest shuttles from Wellington Station and Chelsea Silver Line Station on a regular basis. However, we will continue to provide transportation to guests for routes that are not currently serviced by MBTA bus routes to the property. Employee shuttles remain the same,” said Encore Casino in a statement.
Richie and Betsy, who regularly use the free shuttle service from Wellington Station, were not happy to learn of the upcoming changes.
“So what happens to the casino? They lose money,” said Richie.
“Imagine going from here to there?” said Betsy.
“I said just leave it alone and mind their business,” said Richie. “Listen, they’re losing a lot of customers.”
