BILLERICA, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It's heartbreak for some residents in Billerica, after news broke that there's one less Market Basket on Boston Road for customers to get all their grocery shopping done.
WBZ's Matt Shearer was on scene to ask the local Market Basket customers what they thought of the loss, after the store's landlord refused to renew their lease.
"I actually cried, and I cried walking down the aisles last week— I felt like I lost a part of my family," said one customer named Peggy.
Other customers were not so heartbroken by the change.
"If that's all they have to worry about in life— they're doing pretty good, that's all I can tell you. Are you kidding me?" another customer named Bill said.
