Enfield Inmate Walks Away

ENFIELD, Conn. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Connecticut authorities are looking for an inmate who just walked away from a day program at a local college in Enfield.

45-year-old Christopher Somsky, serving time at the men's Willard-Cybulski Correctional Institute on Shaker Rd, left on foot from the approved furlough program at Asnuntuck Community College on Elm Street Saturday afternoon but did not return to the detention center.

An alert was issued that afternoon, asking residents to be on the look out for Somsky.

Officials say he is a a low-risk inmate, originally from Westport, Connecticut, serving a nine-year sentence from a 2015 robbery conviction.

Somsky is described as a six-foot-tall bald white man, wearing a tan baseball hat, blue jeans, and a gray sweatshirt.

State troopers warn the public, if you see Somsky, do not approach him. Instead call the Connecticut State Police Troop H barracks at 860-534-1000.
