BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio)— Boston Mayoral Candidate Annissa Essaibi George was disappointed with the way Acting Boston Mayor Kim Janey did her endorsement of her opponent Michelle Wu.

Essaibi George spoke with WBZ's Mike Macklin about the endorsement saying she found out about it from the press.

"It's not so much about the endorsement, just about the lack of professional behavior in the way that I received that information," Essaibi George said.

She said she had spoken with Janey about an hour before she announced her endorsement. Janey told Essaibi George she was undecided during that conversation and later on that day announced her endorsement of Wu.

"I think it was unprofessional," Essaibi George said.

Wu also scored another big endorse this past week, this time from Rep. Ayanna Pressley. Pressley spoke about her relationship with Wu as the reason why she endorsed her for mayor.

"What I love about Michelle is that she has never accepted the status quo...as an excuse for inaction," Pressley said. "She is determined, she is innovative, and she committed to advancing policies that uplift everyone in Boston."

Wu and Essaibi George will debate each other on Oct. 13 on WBZ TV before Boston voters head to the polls on Nov. 2.

WBZ's Mike Macklin has the story.
