NAHANT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Despite Hurricane Lee creating extremely dangerous conditions on the water this Saturday, experienced surfers see a potential opportunity.

Owner of Ocean House Surf & Skate Tim Oviatt said the shop will be open this Saturday. He expects some surfers to take the risk during the storm, with potential swells over 10 feet.

“There’s going to be surfers that are going to try to go out there and brave the big waves no matter what, so we’re here to support the guys that know what they’re doing,” said Oviatt.

While big waves usually generate a lot of business for the store, they will not be renting out boards on Saturday.

“We just advise people to wait until after the storm to surf. Sunday morning looks like it could be pretty good,” said Oviatt.
