Extra Days Announced For Free COVID-19 Testing In Dedham

DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A free COVID-19 testing site in Dedham is extending its availability this week, following a recent spike in the town's confirmed cases of coronavirus.

According to Town Manager Leon Goodwin, the mobile site is being conducted by Fallon Ambulance at the Endicott Estate, located at 656 East Street.

Dedham officials partnered with state leaders last week to bring the mobile testing unit to town, in response to the latest state's designation for Dedham as a COVID-19 “high risk” community.

The unit began offering free testing on Sunday, and while it was initially scheduled to stay open through Tuesday, it will now remain available through Thursday. The full schedule for the testing site is:

Sunday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. - noon

Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 2 - 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 16 from noon - 6 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 17 from noon - 6 p.m.

Goodwin said testing is available and free for everyone, and individuals do not need to have symptoms of COVID-19 to be tested. The testing site is drive-through only, no walk-ups will be allowed, and no appointment is necessary.

"We are grateful to state leaders for working with us to provide this testing site in Dedham, and to Fallon Ambulance for conducting the testing," Goodwin said. "We are urging as many people as possible to get tested at the site this week, and hope that the additional hours added on Wednesday and Thursday will ensure that more people will come to get tested."
