BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Federal Aviation Administration said this week is going to be the busiest Thanksgiving travel week in 15 years.

Logan Airport travelers on Tuesday morning thought they were getting a head start from the chaos but were in for a bit of a surprise.

“I’m getting to the airports I guess what I considered to be kind of early, but clearly there’s a lot of people checking their bags, there’s a lot of security, but it looks doable.” Elizabeth told WBZ NewsRadio.

The agency said Tuesday is peak travel day with more than 52,000 flights expected to take off nationwide.

Aidan, who’s traveling with his cat, said prices for flights were much higher on other days compared to Tuesday “so maybe that’s why it’s a better price.”

Sunday, Nov. 30 and Monday, Dec. 1 are going to be peak return travel days.

“Hopefully I’ll get out fine.” Elizabeth added.
