Faithful Bos-Stoners Celebrate 4/20 In Boston Common

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Marijuana-smokers in Boston Common wasted no time getting down to business on Tuesday.

4/20 is the date of an informal cannabis holiday every year, and despite the ongoing pandemic, this year was no exception.

WBZ's Matt Shearer interviewed a group of BU students who were in the middle of partaking.

Daniel, one of the students, and three of his friends were relaxing in Boston Common with a bong and a big bag of Cheetos. The group said they had a tournament going: whoever could smoke the most would receive the remainder of the group's weed.

A few benches down was James from Chelsea was also lighting up. His T-shirt gave him away:

"It says Bos-Stoner. Not Bostoner! I'm a Bos-Stoner," he said.

Tyrell, another stoner, said he'd already smoked today — but that wasn't much different from any other day.

"I just 4/20'd just a few minutes ago...It's 4/20 every day for me!" Tyrell said with a laugh.
