BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — With “Hamilton” in theaters on Friday to celebrate its 10th anniversary, The Massachusetts Historical Society said history buffs and superfans of the Broadway musical may be interested in their collection.
The society has many real-life artifacts from the famous Founding Father, including something we wrote days before his death.

“The last letter that Alexander Hamilton ever wrote was written just before his duel with Aaron Burr on the day before, and he dies two days after this,” said Kanisorn Wongsrichanalai, director of research at the society.
Other items in the collection include a bust of Hamilton and a locke of his hair.

Wongsrichanalai said the artifacts have a “really magical and transformative effect on individuals.”
That includes Wongsrichanalai himself.
“I pinch myself, almost everyday, to work at such a place that has so many remarkable treasures in American history,” he said.
The artifacts are open to the public, free of charge.
