BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – Baseball fans remained faithful as the Red Sox rebounded from finishing in last place last season to advancing to the American League Championship Series this season.
The team beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 in Game 4 of the Division Series Monday night to move onto the ALCS. The Sox took the win in a ninth inning, walk-off victory.

With so much on the line and pushing the results toward the end, nervous fans in Fenway Park were pumped to see the Sox claim victory.
“The fans are very loyal,” said Scotty who works at Game On, a sports bar right outside the park. He said celebrations were wild and lasted long into the night.
“A lot of crazy fans, a lot of supportive fans,” Scotty said. “People here celebrated until 2:00.”

The Sox are waiting to play the winner of the other ALDS matchup between the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros. Houston currently leads the series 2-1 and Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Sox are scheduled to face the winner of that series on Friday.
