Fatal Car Crash In Duxbury Closes Part Of Route 3 South

DUXBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A fatal crash in Duxbury closed down part of Route 3 South on Monday morning. 

According to the Duxbury Fire Department, a car collided with a guard rail around an inactive construction zone just before 5 a.m. between Exit 27 and Exit 22, near the Franklin Street overpass. 

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department. 

The highway was shut down between Exit 27 and Exit 22 for several hours, and traffic was led onto Route 139 in Pembroke, according to the department.

The police are not revealing the identity of the driver yet. 

State Police are investigating.
