Fatal Car Crash Kills One Pedestrian In Revere, Mass. On Jan. 19

REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Friday, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car in Revere, Mass.

The victim was a 59-year-old woman from Danvers, Mass., said Massachusetts State Police in a press release.

Around 12 p.m. on Jan. 19, the victim was walking across Oak Island Street when she was struck by the back of a Toyota Highlander driven by a 60-year-old woman. The crash was about a block away from Revere Beach Boulevard.

Massachusetts State Police and Revere Police responded to the scene. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital via ambulance where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver remained at the scene and was taken to the hospital for potential shock. She cooperated with police investigators, officials said.

The investigation into the reasons for the crash is ongoing, police say.
