EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — East Bridgewater Police said that they responded to a fatal crash in the area of 698 Bedford Street (Route 18) Friday afternoon.
According to police, first responders arrived and determined that a single vehicle left the roadway and crashed into multiple objects, rolling over.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle had to be extricated from his vehicle by members of the East Bridgewater Fire Department, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle had been traveling southbound on Route 18 prior to the crash, near the intersection of Route 106.
The driver was a male in his late 20's.
The East Bridgewater Police Department said the cause of the incident remains under investigation in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Collison Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
