BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Pickleball is coming to Fenway Park this summer.

Pickleball4America announced last month that Fenway will host professional and amateur pickleball tournaments as part of its Ballpark Festival Series. The San Francisco Giants' Oracle Park was also announced as a host for the inaugural series.

Speaking with the Boston Globe, festival organizers gave more details on what the event will look like. 12 pickleball courts will be spread out in Fenway's outfield while the Red Sox are out of town, with court time available for rent to the general public and private companies.

There will also be food, beverage, and live music options for attendees to choose from during the pause between games.

"We just don’t want people to come and play, we want them to come and hang out for a while to take it all in," Pickleball4America chairman and former Red Sox COO Mike Dee told the Globe.

"People will have the opportunity to play and have access to hospitality, and there will likely be some sort of a commemorative gift they will receive as well," Mark Lev, president of Fenway Sports Management, told the newspaper.

The dates, rates, and other details will be announced later this month.
