Fire On Tracks Forces Blue Line Evacuation

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just one day after Governor Charlie Baker vows to put more money towards the MBTA, problems arise at the Aquarium stop on the Blue Line.

Boston firefighters responded to a report of a fire at the T station around 9:00 a.m. Monday morning where they found "arcing cables next to the third rail." Power was cut while the flames were extinguished.

No injuries were reported, and riders evacuated the station on their own.

Service had been restored of 10:45 a.m. Monday morning.
