Firefighters Knock Down 5-Alarm Fire In Dorchester

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Firefighters responded to a five-alarm fire in Dorchester Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, the fire appeared to have started on a back porch, and then spread to an adjacent building.

The Boston Fire Department said that the “heavy fire has been knocked down.”

All occupants in the building were safely evacuated. About 30 residents were displaced.

Officials estimate about $400,000 in damages.
