BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — These fans of the 1975 blockbuster film “Jaws” are in luck as the Massachusetts State Lottery has announced the first six winners of a trip to Martha’s Vineyard inspired by the film in honor of its 50th anniversary.

The winners were randomly selected and are from the communities of Lawrence, Holden, Methuen, Gardner, Fall River, and Little Compton, RI.

“From speaking with trip winners and hearing how excited they are, it is clear just how unique and special this prize is,” said Mark William Bracken, Executive Director of the Mass Lottery. “While we felt confident that this ticket would be popular because of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity it offers, the customer response has exceeded our high expectations,” he added.

The prize includes a 3-night stay for two at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown, ferry to and from the island, plus island transportation, and a private screening of the Oscar winning film.

Thirty winners will be ultimately selected for the trip and will have the opportunity to participate in a JAWS-themed game show in which one contestant is guaranteed to win a $1 million prize. Runner up contestants will win a guaranteed prize of $500 to $10,000, according to an official press release.

The JAWS instant ticket is available at Mass Lottery retailers across the state.
