23-Year-Old Killed In Fitchburg Shooting

FITCHBURG, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two shootings took place within half an hour of each other in Fitchburg Thursday night, with one leaving a 23-year-old man dead.

That unidentified man was shot on Blossom Street around 9 p.m. He was rushed to UMass Leominster Hospital and pronounced dead.

Worcester District Attorney Joe Early's office said that shooting doesn't appear to have been a random act.

About 25 minutes later on Goddard Street, Early's office said, a man was injured when several shots were fired into the car in which he was sitting.

It wasn't yet clear to investigators whether or not the shootings were related.
